The awards continued to roll in for Ole Miss senior cornerback Senquez Golson Tuesday as he was selected to the Associated Press annual All-America team.

Golson, a native of Pascagoula, was named to the first team on defense. He led the SEC with nine interceptions, a figure that was second overall in the nation. Golson also led the SEC in pass breakups with 1.4 per contest. He was also credited with 41 tackles.

Golson was joined on the 2014 team by teammates Robert Nkemdiche and Cody Prewitt. The sophomore defensive tackle enters the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl with 33 tackles, three going for a loss, and two sacks. Prewitt, a free safety, had 60 tackles, 3.5 for a loss, two interceptions and two pass breakups. Both Prewitt and Nkemdiche were named to the second team.

TCU, the Rebels’ opponent in Atlanta, had two players make the team. Junior quarterback Trevone Boykin was second team behind Oregon’s Marcus Mariota, while linebacker Paul Dawson made the first team on defense.

A total of 15 players from the SEC were named to the first, second or third team.
