Georgia’s Fox impressed with Ole Miss guard Stefan Moody

Georgia coach Mark Fox has been really impressed with Ole Miss junior college transfer shooting guard Stefan Moody.

The Rebels play Tuesday night at 6 against Georgia.

“He really is a special player. He’s shot the 3 at an extreme clip. He’s extremely athletic. Everyone in this league was excited when Marshall Henderson left. You felt they couldn’t get a guy who shoots as well as him, but lo and behold they’ve done it and added athleticism to that position. He’s a tough matchup. They’ve not missed a beat there. He’s such a good shooter, and he’s so tough off the bounce, and he’s surrounded by good players.”

Moody has hit at least two 3-pointers in seven straight games and is shooting 39.2 percent from the arc for the season.

He was 2-for-3 at Arkansas, the fewest 3-pointers he’s attempted since going 1-for-2 against Southern University on Nov. 20.

In the most recent release of statistics, Georgia is fourth in the league in 3-point defense with opponents shooting 30.1 percent.

I love Moody. He needs to get take three times the shots of Summers. But we have to keep going to the big guys. They have been very high percentage shooters all year. At home, we get all excited for the threes and stop going inside. That gives us a low shooting percentage and as bad as Jarvis shoots, it is hard to get a run going.
