Senior Bowl Update

Technical difficulties kept this Senior Bowl notebook from getting posted last night.

It was a good day for Ole Miss DBs Cody Prewitt and Senquez Golson.

Prewitt had at least one interception as I moved around and watched different players.

It was interesting to watch Prewitt line up at the line of scrimmage and go through pass rush drills. That wasn’t something he did much Ole Miss.

Here are a couple of videos of Prewitt in that drill:

TheĀ Jacksonville staff, coaching the South squad in this game, was aware that it was taking Prewitt out of his comfort zone. He got a good deal of instruction after each rep it seemed.

Prewitt says he’s determined to answer questions about his speed and to show NFL scouts this week that he can play both safety positions.

Golson had a mostly good day at corner. Central Florida WR Ranell Hill got behind him on one route in a 1-on-1 drill. Hill used a double move and got chewed out for it from the Jacksonville assistant. I don’t know if he’d been told to do something differently or if Golson was beaten because he knew what was coming and was caught off guard.

Here’s the drill:

In later full scrimmage work Golson had a PBU against Hill. Prewitt also had a PBU at that time.

Immediately after practice a Cleveland Browns scout pulled Golson aside and interviewed him on the field for about 15 minutes.

Here’s what Golson had to say about his day:
