Thursday Morning Update

Spanning the globe on a Thursday morning …

I met Aging Biker at the Ole Miss-MSU basketball game last night. It was good to put a face with a blog handle.

Now on to the links …

Need to slow down that Alabama football before somebody gets hurt:

According to Bleacher Report, the No. 1 “‘perk” among college football stadiums nationally isn’t a big video board, locker rooms, turf, etc. It’s a tree-shaded plot of land adjacent Vaught-Hemingway Stadium. …

The presence of Will Muschamp has Auburn expecting a big finish to the recruiting season. LSU is feeling that way too with former Ole Miss coach Ed Orgeron now on Les Miles’ staff. …

Speaking of LSU, some good money news for the Tigers:

Speaking of Muschamp, not a ringing endorsement here for Alabama basketball coach Anthony Grant. The former Florida assistant is now 0-9 against Billy Donovan:

All good things must come to an end. That may or may not be the case for Division III Wisconsin-Whitewater which is looking for a new coach. UWW has won 32 straight games and six of the last eight D3 national championships. …

Looks like Texas has offered a job to the high school coach of five-star wide receiver DaMarkus Lodge, an Ole Miss target. …

Financial philosophy from Murphy Holloway here:
