Happy Groundhog Day everyone. If Phil sees his shadow today there are six more weeks of recruiting. Is that how it works? …

Speaking of recruiting, the hay is in the barn. Ole Miss coaches watched a couple of their commits take visits to rivals on the final weekend, and, well, things didn’t go do well. …

From New Orleans, Nola.com’s take on the Leo Lewis decommitment news Friday night.

Where the Rebels stand with longtime OL commit Drew Richmond may be up in the air too. Richmond has not stated publicly that he is no longer committed to Ole Miss, but he hasn’t stated that he is, and he retweeted everything he saw about himself on his visit to Tennessee.

Then there was Tennessee DL commit Kahlil McKenzie antagonizing Hugh Freeze on Twitter. Robert Conyers would get involved, and the whole thing would end with an apology from McKenzie to Freeze.

The Rebels appear to be in good shape with defensive end Cece Jefferson and wide receiver DaMarkus Lodge.

We’ll know everything Wednesday.

Elsewhere …

In addition to recruiting another sport is in season, basketball, and it’s a red-hot Texas A&M team that visits Ole Miss Wednesday night. Maybe everyone will have had time to decompress from signing day drama by the time basketball tips at 6  … but probably not.

An Auburn women’s basketball player has been dismissed from the team following a suspension for a fight. …

On the men’s side at Auburn, Bruce Pearl’s rebuilding Tigers lost at rebuilding Tennessee Saturday and then Pearl got a little emotional in thinking of the good times in Knoxville. Ole Miss is at Auburn Saturday. …

The SEC had the most players on Super Bowl XLIX rosters but it wasn’t by a landslide. …
