Know Your Recruit: LB Curtis a steal from Pitt

By John Davis, Oxford Citizen

A late flip at linebacker for the Ole Miss Rebels may turn into the biggest addition of the 2015 class.

According to Larry Blustein, the recruiting editor of the Miami Herald, Shawn Curtis is headed to the NFL in time. For those that follow the Know Your Recruit series, Blustein has contributed his thoughts on all the prospects from the state of Florida, including Orlando athlete Jalen Julius, who is expected to sign with Ole Miss today, CeCe Jefferson and others.

Curtis (6-foot-3, 247 pounds) is somebody Blustein is very familiar with, having conducted several interviews with him and watched him on the field extensively over his career at Ronald Reagan High School, which is located in Doral, Fla., or the greater Miami area.

Blustein said Curtis was a verbal pledge to Pittsburgh all the way through this morning.

Here is an interview with Curtis conducted by Andre C. Fernandez, a colleague of Blustein’s, with the Miami Herald.
