Rebels continue roll with road win at Auburn

By John Davis, Oxford Citizen

Ole Miss continued to gain momentum heading into the second half of the SEC season Saturday evening with an 86-79 win at Auburn.

Ole Miss had five players in double figures in the victory, its fifth in a row and second straight on the road.

LaDarius “Snoop” White led the Rebels (16-7 overall, 7-3 SEC) with 20 points. Stefan Moody chipped in 15 points. Jarvis Summers had 13. Sebastian Saiz continued to play well, scoring 11 points and grabbing five rebounds. Ole Miss finished with 36 points in the paint compared to 24 for Auburn.

Both teams combined to shoot 72 free throws in the contest. Ole Miss was 28 of 38, and good down the stretch with Auburn still in striking distance in the final minute.

Auburn (11-12, 3-7) finished 23 of 34 from the line. The Tigers held a 32-31 lead the half, but the Rebels switched that around by scoring 55 points in the second half. There were eight lead changes and 13 ties in the contest.

Up next for the Rebels is a trip to Florida on Thursday. That contest will be shown on ESPN2 at 6 p.m.
