Opening Day

Ole Miss coach Mike Bianco said he didn’t feel like there was a “cloud” around a program that had long flirted with Omaha but never reached the dance.

Now that the Rebels have been there — finishing in the Final Four of the College World Series last summer — he’s excited to see how they respond to that success.

Ole Miss opens today at 4 against William and Mary, the team that beat the Rebels twice and eliminated them from the NCAA tournament in Raleigh, N.C., in 2013.

With their biggest modern day season just a year ago, the Rebels aren’t sitting on success.
