Patterson commits to Ole Miss

Shreveport La., QB Shea Patterson — rated the No. 1 dual threat QB in the nation by — has given a verbal commitment to Ole Miss. John Davis will have more in a bit.

For now, here’s a little more on Patterson from the live stream that was available at

This from his coach, John Bachman: “He’s an All-American young man. It’s all about his teammates and everybody else. You never see that finger coming back at him.”

A statistician for Calvary stood at the podium and said that Patterson has passed for 5,083 yards, 72 touchdowns and seven interceptions over the last two seasons.

Patterson moved quickly from the podium to small group interviews with media in attendance. He told them he had been interested in Ole Miss for a long time, that the Auburn game really influenced his decision and that he intends to begin recruiting for Ole Miss.
