Final: Ole Miss 71, MSU 65

The Big Three didn’t score in bunches, but the Big One did. Stefan Moody went off in the second half for 23 points. He finished with 29 and was 8-for-12 from the arc. He hit two big free throws with 14 seconds left to seal it.

Jarvis Summers had six points on 3-for-7 shooting, LaDarius White five points on 2-for-11 shooting.

Andy Kennedy spent a ┬álot of time detailing the importance of the win from a “next game” and numbers standpoint. He has never been about the rivalry.

However, at the end of the game he fist-pumped with enthusiasm, and when he didn’t, he wasn’t aiming his emotions at his players or turning and having a personal moment. He was looking across the court. He appeared to be looking across the court at a person or people. He didn’t address the moment after the game.

Huge turnaround in the second half for Ole Miss. The Rebels were minus-13 on the glass in the first 20 minutes but plus-8 in the final 20 minutes.

More in tomorrow in Day After Observations.
