Rebels at Southern Miss tonight

Ole Miss baseball will take on Southern Miss tonight at 6 in Hattiesburg.

It’s a “black out” game for the Golden Eagles at Pete Taylor Park. Southern Miss has not been very intimidating on offense but has pitched well this season.

Ole Miss will start sophomore left-hander Evan Anderson who gave up one hit and one run in five innings to get the win against Arkansas State last week. He has a 5.40 ERA in 8.1 innings pitched.

Southern Miss will throw right-hander Cord Cockrell who has given up five hits and three earned runs in 2.1 innings over two appearances.

The Golden Eagles improved to 6-4-1 with a 3-0 win over South Alabama last night. They are hitting only .253 but have a team earned run average of 2.18.
