Ole Miss sweeps

Ole Miss baseball swept a doubleheader from Stetson today by scores of 8-3 in Game 1 and 7-3 in Game 2.

That clinches the series for the Rebels. They’ll go for their first sweep of the season tomorrow at noon.

The Rebels had 14 hits in Game 1. Against a Stetson lefty Mike Bianco batted freshmen Kyle Watson and Will Golsan 1-2 in the order. They responded by going a combined 5-for-8.

Watson was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, Golsan 2-for-4 with an RBI and run scored.

Errol Robinson had three hits.

In the nightcap, Brady Bramlett struck out 12 and pitched six scoreless innings.

The Rebels got an early home run from Henri Lartigue and took advantage of Stetson errors in a four-run third inning.

They never completely stepped on the gas, and the Hatters rallied against middle relievers Evan Anderson and Will Stokes before Wyatt Short pitched two scoreless innings for the save.

It was a 5-3 game in the bottom of the eighth when the Rebels added two more runs.
