Kennedy doesn’t rule out pursuit of international prospects

Former Ole Miss assistant Sergio Rouco had the lead role in signing international players such as Anthony Perez, Sebastian Saiz and Dwight Coleby.

Rouco left after last season to taken an assistant’s position at South Florida.

That said, the Rebels’ recruiting of international players moving forward is not a prirotity.

“That was kind of Serg’s niche, and he had more in-roads into that opportunity,” Ole Miss coach Andy Kennedy said.

In the early signing period Ole Miss signed Southaven shooting guard Terence Davis, rated the No. 128 player by Rivals, Memphis small forward Donte Fitzpatrick, the No. 138 player, and juco shooting guard Rasheed Brooks from Southwest Tennessee Community College.

Kennedy doesn’t rule out pursuing international players.

“It just has to make sense for us on a number of fronts. We have not explored that as much as we did with Serg. We’ll see. It doesn’t mean there won’t be opportunities down the road. We didn’t sign any early, and we’re not pursuing any currently.”
