Video Blog: Freeze talks QBs post Grove Bowl

By John Davis, Oxford Citizen

Spring football practice is now in the books for the Ole Miss Rebels. Coach Hugh Freeze was pleased with how everything turned considering the amount of injuries the team experienced.

The race to become the starter at quarterback continued to move forward, with several thousand fans watching at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium Saturday afternoon at the Grove Bowl. Chad Kelly was the only quarterback to throw a touchdown pass during the game the Blue won 17-7.

Still, Freeze felt like Ryan Buchanan, who finished 5-for-16 for 49 yards, had done enough during the 15 practices to be considered the slight leader heading into the next stage of individual workouts.

Here are portions of Freeze’s press conference with the media following the game, and his answers about the quarterback race.
