Better offense for Rebels in a 3-2 week

Ole Miss went 4-2 in the week just completed, and Mike Bianco says the Rebels swung the bat better. The numbers support that.

The Rebels were 3-2 for the week and had double figures hits in four of the five games.

They were only 2-2 in those games which underscores some other problems with this team.

Ole Miss had 10 hits in yesterday’s 13-4 loss to Alabama. The day before the Rebels won 8-4 with only eight hits. That happens when you hit with men on base.

Ole Miss had 12 hits in last Wednesday’s 10-5 loss to Memphis.

The Rebels hit .333 for the Alabama series, not bad for a team whose collective average has hovered around .250, at times below, this season.

Thanks to increases from Connor Cloyd, Colby Bortles and Austin Knight, Ole Miss goes into this week hitting .262.

Here are numbers from the regulars for the Alabama series.

Cloyd 6-for-13, 3 RBI

Golsan 2-for-12, 3 runs

Woodman 3-for-12

Bortles 4-for-9, HR, 5 RBI

Orvis 3-for-10, HR, 3 RBI

Robinson 5-for-11

Knight 5-for-12, 2 HR
