Bomb Tracking from Ole Miss operations assistant Andrew Case:
Bortles’ home run gave the Rebels some breathing room in a 10-2 win over Alabama on Saturday, a day that turned out to be the Rebels’ most complete of the season. Ole Miss got two great starts, solid bullpen work, played errorless in the field and hit .367 for the day.
Then on Sunday the Rebels reverted and gave back the small gains they’d made. They’re a game over .500 going into Tuesday’s matchup with Mississippi State in Pearl.
That’s the current state of the Rebels. They can’t seem to get on a roll which has to due with lack of pitching depth.
If I had to pick and MVP for this team right now it would be Bortles with Brady Bramlett and Scott Weathersby co-runners-up.
