Freeze, Tuohy and the Chick-Fil-A Challenge

Hugh Freeze and Sean Tuohy missed the playoff by two strokes Tuesday in the Chick-Fil-A Peach Bowl Challenge, a coach-celebrity charity golf event.

Freeze and Tuohy shot 7-under while the North Carolina State tandem of Dave Doeren and Terry Harvey shot 9-under. The NC State duo joined Georgia Tech (Paul Johnson-Jon Barry), South Carolina (Steve Spurrier-Sterling Sharpe) and Alabama (Nick Saban-Mark Ingram) in the playoff.

Freeze did win one of the two skills competitions in the coaches’ division. He won longest drive with a 287-yard shot.

Bo Jackson won longest drive in the celebrity division with a shot of 331.5 yards.

The event generated over $630,000 for charity and scholarships.
