Veterans leading recent hot streak for Rebels

One of the key factors in the Rebels’ improving offense is the fact that a couple of veterans have increased their play of late.

Sikes Orvis and Errol Robinson both had big weekends against Mississippi State and that continued in what appeared to be batting practice against Arkansas State.

Orvis was 3-for-3 last night with two home runs, his second-straight multi-homer game, and an incredicble eight RBIs. Over the last four games he’s 10-for-15 with five home runs and 14 RBIs.

Robinson was 3-for-4 with three RBIs and hit his first career home run. Over the last four games he’s 8-for-16 with eight RBIs.

Orvis’ average has increased to .277. He now leads the team in doubles (17), home runs (16), RBIs (52) and total bases (116).

Robinson’s average has jumped to .288, very close to the .294 he hit as a freshman. He’s been moved to the leadoff spot in the order.
