Orvis is SEC co-player of week

Eight RBIs against Arkansas State helped Sikes Orvis win co-player of the week when the SEC announced its last round of weekly individual awards earlier this evening.
It’s the first time in his career for Orvis, a senior from Orlando, to be so honored.
Orvis had two home runs in last week’s 17-3 win against Arkansas State, one of them a grand slam, and also had a double.
Later in the week he doubled and drove in a run with a bases-loaded walk in the Rebels’ 7-4 win over No. 7 Texas A&M.
No. 6 seed Ole Miss meets No. 11 seed Alabama Tuesday at 9:30 in the opening game of the SEC tournament.

The Rebels would not be where they are today without Orvis. Orvis has 16 home runs on the year, which is the seventh-most in a single season in Ole Miss history and the second most in the SEC this season. He is fifth in the SEC with 17 doubles.
Good luck to Orvis and the Diamond Rebs in tomorrow’s SEC lead off game.
(It’s great having a morning game as opposed to a late night game)
