Ole Miss places six — four first team — on media preseason SEC team

Ole Miss, picked fifth in the West by SEC media yesterday, placed six players on the media’s preseason All-SEC team announced this morning.

Ironically, three of the Rebels’ four first-team selections were on offense, not defense, which is considered to be the stronger side of the ball for Ole Miss.

Wide receiver Laquon Treadwell, offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil and tight end Evan Engram made the first team.

Treadwell was the leading vote-getter among wide receivers with 169. Tunsil was the second-leading vote-getter among five offensive linemen with 159.

Defensive tackle Robert Nkemdiche made the first team and was the SEC’s second-leading defensive vote-getter with 173. He trailed Florida conrerback Vernon Hargreaves with 186.

Safety Tony Conner made the second team and end Marquis Haynes the third team.

Ole Miss with four (4) all SEC team offensive players and yet they are selected to be fourth in SEC West, something not just right up there in Oxford. could the coaching be the culprit or maybe the weather. The six players 2 defense 4 offense mentioned could be possible be All Americans. Rebels represented by great player in other position.but still no championship in sight. 🙂

Or it could just be that there are some really good teams in the SEC west.
