The luxury of depth

I remember the first spring for Hugh Freeze and his staff. Defensive coordinator Dave Wommack talked to us about depth or the Rebels’ woeful lack thereof.

He said he felt like he had seven or eight SEC players. Not All-SEC players, just seven or eight players he felt could hold their own in conference games.

Things have changed.

The signing class of 2013 gets a lot of attention, and rightfully so, but the Ole Miss staff has continued to recruit well and has added depth across the board.

Now there could really be seven or eight All-SEC players. It’s that kind of depth that makes Freeze believe he can talk with his players about the game’s ultimate prize.

From the Mother Ship, depth for the Rebels.
