Tuesday Practice Notes

A few observations from four viewing periods today.

Laremy Tunsil was dressed and in attendance. Don’t read anything into that. It means nothing relative to when he might play again.

He was in good spirits walking out to the offensive lineman group, catching and throwing a football with managers a little bit.

Center Robert Conyers was held out with his knee. He’s expected to play Saturday.

Here’s defensive coordinator Dave Wommack from post-practice interview:

It looked today like they were getting ready for the possibility that Conyers would be needed at right tackle.

Ben Still took the first-team reps at center, Justin Bell the second-team reps.

Rod Taylor took all the first-team reps at right guard during the viewing periods.

If Bell does not start it would end a streak of 28 consecutive offensive line starts at one guard or the other, mostly the right side.

Rawlings was taking first-team reps at right tackle where he has started two games.

Behind him on the second team was junior walk-on Talbot Buys.

It will be very difficult to block one of the best D-lines in the country when your All American left tackle is not in the game protecting Kelly’s blind side and both Taylor and Conyers banged up.
Chad is going to have to win this game with his quick throws and his quick feet. IF he plays like Johnny Football, the Rebels have a chance to improve their record in Tuscaloosa to 2 all time wins. :))
