Monday Morning Update

Spanning the globe on a Monday morning …

Got back from Gainesville last night about 6. I employed a new long road trip strategy, and that was to stay later in the town and get home later.

It’s not the preferred approach, but I was able to sleep better and work better Sunday after midnight and again later that morning.

Delta ran on time which is another key element in a successful trip, and one that you can’t control. It’s a tone-setter, much like the Rebels’ three-and-out and turnover were on their first two series in the Swamp.

It was a big Saturday in the SEC, and Florida emerged as the leading contender in the SEC East.

Innovative play-calling from Jim McElwain was a big factor in the Gators’ win, the Orlando Sentinel says. …

It’s Media Monday, and we’ll talk to the Rebels who appear about the Florida loss. We were told in the fourth quarter last night that the only players who would be made available in the postgame were Chad Kelly, Mike Hilton and Evan Engram.

A lot more players were made available when Ole Miss won 31-30 in the Swamp in 2008.

To be fair, that was a day game.

There are some logistical considerations late at night when everybody, including the team, is trying to do what needs to be done and get out of there.

That sort of limitation, though, gives the look of not wanting to talk about a tough loss.

There are two players who should be available to speak after every game. One is Kelly, and the other is Robert Nkemdiche. Those two are the faces of their respective sides of the ball. …

Some Georgia fans vented against Bulldogs coach Mark Richt after their 38-10 loss — That’s right, same score in Gainesville — to Alabama. …

More from the Grim Reaper side of the Saturday’s play as Tennessee coach Butch Jones begins to take heat in Knoxville. Remember this summer when Tennessee was a trendy upper tier pick in the Eastern Division. …

It was yet another come-from-ahead loss for the Vols as Arkansas won 24-20. Here’s what Razorbacks coach Bret Bielema had to say after the game.

On a lighter side, if pizza is really light, here’s an interesting nugget prior to Arkansas’ win as a local Maryville, Tenn., establishment had some fun with Bielema …

After Alabama reasserted itself in the SEC with its big win at Georiga Nick Saban got a little emotional.

No sheet? I’m far from being a college football coach, but even a 12 year old could see that the Rebels got out coached/outplayed.
My question is…IF Florida were running plays that were difficult to defend. then why in the heck couldn’t the Rebels run similar plays against them? Just axin’.
Right now, Coach Freeze needs to get this Rebel car in the shop, change that flat tire, add new spark plugs, and fill ‘er up with jet fuel.

KB, my man, give Coach Freeze a little slack, he beat the Tide in t-town,Gators were just prepared for this game
and I believe if it was all over again the rebels would probably win. after all Rebs still a head of bama in sec standings. Cheer up Lad 🙂
