Reports: Former Ole Miss assistant named in recruiting scandal at ULL

David Saunders, a three-time assistant coach at Ole Miss, is at the center of a recruiting scandal involving the University of Louisiana-Lafayette, according to the Lafayette newspaper.

The Daily Advertiser Reports that Saunders is accused by the NCAA of fraud involving ACT testing of recruits and also of making a cash payment for one recruits living and educational expenses.

Saunders left the ULL program last November.

The Ole Miss media guide lists Saunders as the director of high school and community relations from 1999-2002 under David Cutcliffe, the linebackers coach in 2006 under Ed Orgeron and the administrative operations coordinator in 2010 under Houston Nutt.
