Monday Morning Update

Spanning the globe on a Monday morning …

You wouldn’t expect a great report card from a 41-23 loss, and this isn’t one Texas A&M would want to have signed by the parents. Alabama won by 18 points. The game has a different feelĀ if the Crimson Tide doesn’t return three interceptions for touchdowns.

Guess Alabama was lucky in that regard.

The Aggies visit Ole Miss this Saturday night but before arriving may have questions to answer at the quarterback position this week.

That could be a positive for an Ole Miss secondary reeling after Paxton Lynch completed 73.5 percent of 59 pass attempts for 384 yards and three touchdowns.

The good news for A&M against Alabama was The Fighting Texas Aggie Band:

The Texas A&M game is the first in a tough five-game SEC stretch for Ole Miss. It would be nice if the Rebels had a Fresno State or a New Mexico State deeper down the list, but they do not. From here on out it’s the SEC West for the Rebels, and while players may not say this way I suspect they’re heading into this stretch with less confidence than at any point this season.

One of those SEC West games will be at Auburn on Halloween night. I have maintained that while Auburn has been down it would stand a good chance to be improved by the time Ole Miss visited there. Last Thursday was a big step in the healing process.

The Rebels’ SEC West stretch will be broken only by a Nov. 14 open date. That will give the Rebels two weeks to figure out a way to tackle LSU’s Leonard Fournette that would not involve 13 players on the field.

Outside the SEC …

Here’s a Dexter McCluster touchdown for the Titans on Sunday. …

Michigan AD Jim Hackett had to ask some Michigan fans on Sunday to cease the harassment of punter Blake O’Neill whose bobbled snap led to a last-play touchdown and win for rival Michigan State. …

How ’bout that touchdown catch last night by Donte Moncreif? He looked a little like Treadwell in his super endzone catch against ‘Bama.

Its good to seeing former Ole Miss players doing good in the Pro’s. I follow Eli and Payton. I have heard rumor that Billy Brewer turned Payton away from Ole Miss

Should Ala. fans protest to the SEC that A&M should be given the win because they did not earn the win due to A&M giving ALA 21 points on turnovers or is that only when ALA has turnovers?
