Ole Miss opens on a Monday, has big SEC games in September

Ole Miss will open its 2016 football season on a Monday.

The Rebels’ neutral site game – somewhat neutral site – against Florida State in Orlando will take place on Labor Day, Sept. 5.

There is some shifting on the schedule with teams the Rebels have faced in different months – Texas A&M and Vanderbilt – moving later into the schedule.

After Florida State, the Rebels will take on FCS foe Wofford in Oxford on short rest on Sept. 10.

After that, September gets pretty rugged. It’s Alabama in Oxford on Sept. 17. A four-game home stretch includes Georgia on Sept. 24 and Memphis on Oct. 1.

The Rebels are open on Oct. 8 before going back on the road Oct. 15 at Arkansas and Oct. 22 at LSU.

Auburn finishes the month of October at Ole Miss on the 29th.

The November schedule includes Georgia Southern at home on the fifth, road trips to Texas A&M and Vanderbilt and the regular-season finale at home against Mississippi State on Nov. 26.
