Freeze gives update on Conner, Brown

By John Davis, Oxford Citizen

Ole Miss is waiting on official word for a bowl game. It more than likely will be the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. The likely opponent is Baylor. And it could possibly be against TCU or Oklahoma State.

Whoever the Rebels end up playing, they will be doing it without the services of safety Tony Conner and defensive end Fadol Brown.

Ole Miss coach Hugh Freeze said that Conner will undergo surgery on his knee some time after final exams, which are next week. Conner has been hampered by his injury for over half of the season. He has played sparingly, but didn’t see any action against Mississippi State.

Brown has also been limited with an injury. A decision for him to miss the bowl game due to surgery was made since the Rebels played at Mississippi State in the annual Egg Bowl.
