Oxford High’s DK Metcalf will be playing in today’s U.S. Army All-American Bowl game in San Antonio. Metcalf, who is playing on the East team, is one of several players Ole Miss fans should keep an eye out for.

Shea Patterson, like Metcalf, is also set to play for the Rebels.  The nation’s top-ranked quarterback is playing for the West in the contest. Other targets for the Rebels that are taking part in the game include: Noxubee County defensive end Jeffrey Simmons (East), linebacker Mique Juarez (West), who played for North High out of Torrance, California and Meridian defensive tackle Raekwon Davis.

Davis is currently a verbal pledge to Alabama, but his taking a visit to Mississippi State coming out of the dead period and thinking of taking a visit to Ole Miss in two of the final weeks before National Signing Day.

Two other players that Ole Miss targeted during this year’s recruiting cycle and engaged with before the two picked other schools to consider are defensive back Mecole Hardman and tight end Isaac Nauta, who played with Patterson at IMG Academy this past fall. Both are members of the East, and both could end up playing at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium this next fall if both pick Georgia in a few weeks.

Today’s game can be seen on NBC at noon. It will be played in the Alamodome.

I will definitely be watching this game today. I’ve read that Shea has had a very productive week in preparation for this game. Looking forward to seeing him connect with some great receivers.

      Well well well!!
Shea Patterson won the MVP Award for the game. He was everything as advertised. I was disappointed that Metcalf didn’t get a lot of touches.
      Anyway…congrats to Shea!
