Rebels meet the public

The Ole Miss baseball team is signing autographs, posing for pictures and passing out hugs on the upper level of the Pavilion right now.

Coach Mike Bianco says rehab is progressing well for two important pitchers, junior Sean Johnson and freshman James McArthur.

Both are big lean right-handers standing 6-foot-7.

Johnson was penciled in as a weekend starter last year when he never overcame elbow issues and had Tommy John surgery.

McCarthur is a probable weekend guy too but sustained a broken foot a month or so ago.

Both will be available in some capacity on opening weekend. Johnson could start.

Ole Miss opens the season Feb. 19 at 4 in the first of three games against Florida International.
