Robinson named All-American again

OXFORD – Ole Miss shortstop Errol Robinson has been named a preseason first-team All-American for the second time.

Robinson, previously named by, was a part of Baseball America’s list released Monday.

Scouting personnel from 17 of the 30 MLB teams helped Baseball American pick its squad.

Baseball America also rated Robinson as the No. 21 prospect. He has been rated No. 28 by and No. 45 by Perfect Game.

A .296 hitter over two seasons, Robinson has 124 starts for Ole Miss.

Last season he hit .297 with a team-high 62 hits, 11 of them doubles. He drove in 30 runs and scored 31.

Ole Miss opens the season Feb. 19 at home against Florida International.
