    Tobby Warren Turner, 58, who helped lead Ole Miss to the 1977
    Southeastern Conference baseball tournament championship, passed away
    Monday, August 1, 2016 at UAB Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.

    Following his graduation from Aberdeen High School in Aberdeen,
    Mississippi, Turner attended Ole Miss for four years where he earned
    three letters as a pitcher for Coach Jake Gibbs.

    During his baseball career at Ole Miss, Turner appeared in 41 games,
    starting 11, and compiled a 14-4 record on the mound. He pitched 111
    innings for the Rebels, striking out 82 hitters, while giving up 73
    walks and 129 hits. His career earned run average was 5.43.

    Turner, who was born August 21, 1957 to Warren Young Turner and Virginia
    May Turner in Aberdeen, was a lifelong resident of Aberdeen. He was a
    member of Aberdeen First Bap
