7-6 win over Caledonia at home last Tuesday, sandwiched between a pair of wins over division rival Shannon to move to 4-1 inside of division 1-4A.

After knocking off the Lady Raiders 7-3 on the road, the Lady Indians returned home and engaged in a nail-biter with Caledonia that ended in walk-off fashion.

IAHS got out to an early 2-0 lead and held a 6-3 advantage heading into the final inning.

The Lady Confederates rallied to tie the game up in the top of the seventh inning with a couple of big hits, and were aided by a couple of Lady Indian errors.

Tied 6-6 heading into the bottom of the seventh, Brittany Sullivan tripled hard to left field to lead things off.

Needing force outs to help their cause, Shannon decided to intentionally walk Lilli Moore and Brianna Moore, bringing up Maddie Johnson with bases loaded and no out.

Johnson came through, delivering a single to center field that scored Sullivan and gave the Lady Indians a thrilling 7-6 walk-off win.

IAHS returned home on Thursday to take on the Lady Raiders of Shannon for the second time in less than a week, and easily dispatched them 11-1.
The Lady Indians got solid offensive output, led by Sullivan, who finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI.

Brianna Moore went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBI, while Kaylee Owens turned in a 2-for-3 day with two runs scored and two RBI.

The Lady Indians have a showdown with Houston on Tuesday, September 27, which will determine the division 1-4A champion.

That contest will finish after this week’s deadline, so look for a full story in the October 5 edition of the Times.
