outright win on the 2016 Symetra Tour but she put up consistently strong showings in each tournament, and October 16th’s tour-ending Symetra Tour Championship was no different.

McDonald, who has already earned her 2017 LPGA Tour card, was on the cusp of winning the season’s final tournament but fell just short to Nicole Broch Larsen, of Denmark, in a playoff after each player shot a 266 for matching 18-under par scores.

McDonald finished 30th at the Evian Championship in France last month, and has recorded multiple second-place finishes during this season’s Symetra Tour. She will look to ride that momentum into the 2017 LPGA Tour, which kicks off at the end of January.
