TUPELO – Thursday night’s Band Together concert raised $36,079, according to the Tupelo Main Street Association’s preliminary count.

The concert, which featured performances from Jimbo Mathus, Cary Husdson, The Red Thangs, Aaron Hall and Paul Thorn, was organized to raise money for the CREATE Foundation’s Northeast Mississippi Tornado Relief Fund.

“The night was awe-inspiring,” said Jessica Hollinger of the Tupelo Main Street Association. “Our community and surrounding areas truly banded together. We want to thank our entertainers, our volunteers, our sponsors and everyone who made this night possible.”

The night even featured an original song, “Tupelo Strong,” written by Aaron Hall for Tupelo.

Hollinger said they estimated more than 1,700 people were in attendance.
