‘Circuit Face’
Clyde McDowell’s “Circuit Face” piece, as well as more whimsical, eccentric, Americana and primitive artwork by other Mississippi artists, will be on display at the “Folk Art & Friendly Folks” exhibit at the Union County Heritage Museum.
McDowell and other Union County artists like Doyle Caviness and Ship Chandler, are joined by Benton County painter Dee Thompson, Corinth metal worker Ralph Barnes and others for the exhibit, which runs through March 20.
A free opening reception is this Sunday at the museum from 1:30-3:30 p.m.
The museum’s hours are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Tuesdays-Fridays and 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Saturdays. There’s no admission; donations are accepted.

West of Shake Rag presents Valentine-inspired comedy
Fall in love with Tupelo’s comedy troupe, West of Shake Rag, at its Valentine’s Day-inspired show this weekend.
“Shake Rag in Love” starts at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Link Centre Black Box.

Dr. Daniel reunites band for rock show this weekend
Dr. Daniel is reviving his band, the Rockabilly Vampires, for a gig this weekend in Tupelo.
Sin City Scoundrels and The Amber will open up the show at 8 p.m. Friday.
Blue Springs-based The Amber, made up of couple Sabrina Hawkins and Ash Williams, just released new music last week.
Tickets are $5 and the show is at Goodtime Charlie’s.

Nappy Roots to play hits at Proud Larry’s on Friday
“Awnaw,” “Po’ Folks” and “Roun’ the Globe” are some of Nappy Roots’ biggest hits, and chances are you’ll hear those songs and more when the Georgia-based rap group takes the stage at Proud Larry’s this weekend.
The show is 9 p.m. Friday, and tickets are $10.
It’s an 18 and up show.
