to perform at Blue Canoe
Denver-based rock band The Congress has a gig at the Blue Canoe this weekend.
The band will perform at 8:30 p.m. Saturday. The Congress has performed at festivals like Wakarusa, High Sierra, Groovefest and more.

Get ready for lots of films,
music at two festivals
Movies, bands and workshops are the stars of the show at this year’s Oxford Music Festival and Oxford Film Festival.
Both festivals kick off with Thacker Mountain Radio tonight at 6. Film screenings, workshops and concerts are scheduled throughout the weekend. The films range from locally produced to international movies, and band scheduled to perform include the Minor Adjustments, Shooting Out the Lights, the Bill Perry Trio and Jimbo Mathus & the Tri-State Coalition.

The classic story of “The Color Purple” graces the stage at the Ford Center this weekend.
