Tupelo director Johnson Thomasson premieres his new short sci-fi murder mystery, “Headrush,” tonight at the Malco in Tupelo. The movie, which stars Cameron Spann, Amye Gousset and Kenny Cook, was filmed in Jackson and Canton. In “Headrush,” a biochemist (Spann) who studies death finds a dead body in a lab. It’s up to him to solve the murder. The movie begins tonight at 7, and tickets are $7. PBR returns to arena for Saturday show
PBR – Professional Bull Riders – returns to the BancorpSouth Arena for a mud-covered good time on Saturday.
The event starts at 8 p.m.
Tickets are $52, $32, $22 and $12, plus fees.
Buffalo Wild Wings will host a pre-party at 6 p.m. Friday, complete with a mechanical bull. All proceeds go to Boys & Girls Club of North Mississippi.

West of Shake Rag hosts Thursday comedy show
Get the giggles tonight at the Link Centre.
Tupelo’s improv comedy team, West of Shake Rag, hosts its weekly comedy show at 7 at the Link’s Black Box Theatre.
The Thursday night shows are the troupe’s slightly less-than-family-friendly shows.

Water Liars to perform at Larry’s tonight
Water Valley-based duo Water Liars will perform tracks off its first two records, and maybe even a few new songs, tonight at Proud Larry’s in Oxford.
The show is at 9 p.m. with Lee Bains III and the Glory Fires opening.

‘Princess and the Frog’ screening in Avent Park
The Disney movie “The Princess and the Frog” will be shown at Avent Park Friday night.
Buki will perform at 7 p.m., followed by the film at dusk.
