Tishomingo County’s own Lisa Lambert is in the spotlight for this month’s Music Mix concert at the Link Centre. Lambert is promoting her latest album, “Come on Home: Songs and Stories from Tishomingo
County,” full of personal tales from her life. The country and bluegrass
singer-songwriter will take the stage in the Reception Hall at 7:30 p.m.

Mississippi music focus of Hill Country Picnic

Camping sites open tonight for this weekend’s Hill Country Picnic, located in a field in Waterford.
This year’s line-up includes Duwayne Burnside, David Kimbrough Band and Bobby Rush on Friday and North Mississippi Allstars, Jimbo Mathus & the Tri-State Coalition and Alvin Youngblood Hart on Saturday.
Be sure to bring bug spray, blankets or chairs, sunscreen, water, hats and sunglasses.
Tickets are $20/Friday and $25/Saturday, plus fees.

Journal workshop at art museum
The GumTree Museum of Art is hosting a journal workshop on Saturday.
Linda Snyder of Funky Finds will lead the course, and all supplies will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own treasures.

Juneteenth is set for Saturday at Ballard Park.
The event begins at 8 a.m. with a fitness walk and run, followed by entertainment, Greek athletic challenge, kids’ activities, stepshows, poets corner, DJ Throwdown, food vendors and more.
