GumTree Festival kicks off
tonight with GumBall
Tonight’s GumBall, at 7 p.m. at the Goodlett Manor, kicks off the 41st annual GumTree Festival in Tupelo.
The festival, located in downtown Tupelo, includes art vendors, music, singer-songwriter competition, a walk/run, kids’ events and more. It’s free.
There is a concert in Fairpark at 7 p.m. Saturday featuring Corey Smith and Blue Mountain, and tickets are $15/advance, $20/gate.

Blue Oval All Ford Cruise
takes off this weekend
Ford fans get their own cruise with the Blue Oval Cruise on Friday and Saturday.
The cruise is open to all Ford Motor products from 1903 to 1978. This year’s featured car is the Ford Galaxie.
The cruise begins Friday at 2 p.m. at the Tupelo Automobile Museum and travels to George Poteet’s Ford Farm in Holly Springs. It’s free. Saturday’s cruise begins with registration at 9-11 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m and is $15. Participants will be fed each day.

The Independents to perform
at Good Time Charlie’s on Friday
Horror-punk band The Independents is making a tour stop in Tupelo on Friday.
The group will perform at 9 p.m. Friday at Good Time Charlie’s, with Astrocasket and Capgun opening.

Bluegrass festival includes
Lisa Lambert, Blue Day, more
Six bands are gathering in Iuka this weekend for the Iuka Bluegrass Festival.
Lisa Lambert & the Pine Ridge Boys, Volume Five, Hatchie Bottom Boys, Blue Day, Knee Deep Bluegrass and Good Time Grass will perform from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday at American Legion Post 15 in Iuka. The festival is a fundraiser for the American Legion.
Admission is $7. Barbecue, hamburgers and hot dogs will be for sale.
Lawn chairs and blankets are welcome.
