Tupelo Ballet will hold 2010 auditions Thursday
– Tupelo Ballet will hold auditions at 3 p.m. today at Tupelo Academy of Dance Arts.
Auditions will be for fourth grade to high school seniors, and ballet attire and shoes will be required. There’s a $10 audition fee.
Anyone who auditions must have proof of attending at least two weeks of summer dance workshops from Tupelo Academy of Dance Arts or another established dance school.

Elvis & Friends visit Vanelli’s for shows this weekend
– Elvis Presley tribute artist Bill Brooks is bringing his show to Vanelli’s this weekend.
He will perform the music of the King of Rock ‘n’ Roll, as well as music by Roy Orbison, Johnny Cash, Marty Robbins and more, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Vanelli’s in Tupelo.
He’ll also perform a show of Christian country and gospel at 2 p.m. Sunday, also at Vanelli’s.

Theatre group seeks cast for ‘Monster Monologues’
– The Tallahatchie River Players will hold auditions for “The Monster Monologues” from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday and 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Sawmill Festival opens Friday at town square
– The Bruce Sawmill Festival will be Friday and Saturday at the Bruce Square.

23rd Slugburger Festival to feature music, more
– The 23rd Annual Slugburger Festival will be today to Saturday in downtown Corinth.
The event will open at 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday and 2 p.m. Saturday. Tickets are $5/Thursday and $8/Friday and Saturday.
Performers will include Retrospect, The Backroads Band, Nash Street, Jamie Davis and Soul Gravy and Breaking Curfew.
