Tupelo-based band The Embrace is releasing its debuting EP, “Ups & Downs,” Saturday. The Embrace, Farewell Flight, Lorien, Fox Chase Drive and Second Chances will preform beginning at 6 p.m. at West Jackson Street Baptist Church. Veterans Park will
host disc golf tourney
– Registration for the Fling with the King Disc Golf Tournament will be 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and 7:30 to 9 a.m. Saturday at Veterans Park.
Registration fees range from $20 to $50, depending on skill level. Tee-off will be 10 a.m. Saturday.

Driving event will start at auto museum
Drivers and their navigators are invited to take part in a time, distance and speed rally beginning at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tupelo Automobile Museum.
In a TSD event, drivers and their navigators follow a set route, and they’re penalized for arriving early or late. The goal is to judge the time, speed and distance to arrive at the exact time.
Participants are asked to meet at the museum at noon on Saturday so they have time to learn the rules of the game. Cars will have staggered start times.

Skaters to show off their skills at park
Professional and amateur skaters will show off their skills beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday at the skate park at Ballard Park.

Heritage festival to honor Presley parents
Celebrate the marriage of Elvis Presley’s parents, Gladys and Vernon, during the Verona Heritage Festival.
The event will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at College and Main streets in Verona. There will be music, kids’ games, a bake sale and door prizes, as well as a re-enactment of the Presley wedding at 2 p.m.
