Music

- Still Blessed of Smithville will be in concert at these dates and places: 6 p.m. Sunday, Calvary Assembly, Tupelo; 7 p.m. Dec. 31, Trace Road Baptist Church, Amory.

- The New Converted Voices will celebrate their 13th anniversary at 6 p.m. Sunday at the New Zion M.B. Church Life Center in Plantersville. Guests include Revised, Determined, The Spiritual Messengers, Annie & The Caldwells, Randy Gaines & Chosen, The Golden Wings, The Newson Singers, The Divine Voices, and Sanders & The Going Four. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children 6-12 at the door.

- The Masters Quartet will be in concert at 6 p.m. Dec. 30 at Burntfields Baptist Church at the Fairview community.

- The Tracemen Quartet will be in concert at 7 p.m. Dec. 31 at Hills Chapel Baptist Church in Kirkville.

Christmas

- Egypt Baptist Church will present a Christmas play at 6 p.m. today. Pastor Larry Jeffries is the host.

- New Direction Church of the Living God in Saltillo will have its annual Christmas program at 6 p.m. today. The theme is “Keeping Christ in Christmas.” The speaker will be Minister Darius Caldwell of New Life Church of the Living God. Elder Jimmy Copeland is the host pastor.

- Center Star Independent Methodist Church will host a drive through live Nativity at 7 p.m. today at Center Star Circle off Hwy. 363 at Mantachie. Bro. Buddy Rushing is the host pastor.

- Union Baptist M.B. Church of Shannon will have a Brotherhood Christmas breakfast at 7 a.m. Sunday. The speaker will be Ralph Green, principal of Shannon Junior High School. The church’s Sunday School Department will present the Christmas play “Breaking News” at 6 p.m. Sunday.

- The Music Ministry of St. Luke United Methodist Church will present the Christmas musical “One Small Child” at 8:45 a.m. and 11 a.m. Sunday. Also, “Jesus, the Gift,” a special enchanted tree service, wll be at 6 p.m. Sunday.

- Palestine United Methodist Church will present a Christmas program during the regular 11 a.m. worship service Sunday. The Rev. Chris Diggs is the host pastor.

- Verona United Methodist Church will present the Christmas cantata, “Jesus, There’s Something About That Name,” at 11 a.m. Sunday. Tommy Monts Jr. is the director. The Rev. Don Sparks is the host pastor.

- The youth and children’s department of Danville C.M.E. Church of Rienzi will present a Christmas drama at 5 p.m. Sunday. Special music will be presented by the Danville C.M.E. Church Choir. The Rev. James D. Agnew is the host pastor.

- A Christmas celebration singing will be at 5 p.m. Sunday at the Union County Fairgrounds. Groups appearing include Redemption, Truly Blessed, Elder Melvin Pinson & Rejoice, Tim Frieson, Celestrial Nightingales, Sanders Brothers, Turner Singers and the New Angelic Voices. Admission is $7 for adults and $2 for children.

- Zion Spring M.B. Church of Okolona will have a Christmas service at 5 p.m. Sunday. Pastor Nollen Elzie Sr. is the host.

- The youth of Fawn Grove Free Will Baptist Church will present a Christmas program, “I Dreamed There Was No Christmas Day,” at 6 p.m. Sunday.

- The choir and orchestra of the First Baptist Church of Tupelo will present “A Christmas Prayer” at 6 p.m. Sunday.

- The Inner City Church will present a Christmas liturgical dance production, “Behold the Lamb of God,” at 6 p.m. Sunday at the Churchill Ballroom at Quality Inn. Elder Gentry Salters is the host pastor.

- The SMUW of Rising Star M.B. Church will celebrate Christmas with Jesus’s birthday scriptures at 6 p.m. Sunday. The Rev. Melvin Lewis is the host pastor.

- Watson Grove M.B. Church Choir, along with other area choirs, will present a Christmas Cantata at 6 p.m. Sunday, followed by a Christmas social in the church fellowship hall. On Dec. 31, the church will have morning worship at 8 a.m. and Watch Night service at 10 p.m. The Rev. Avence Pittman Jr. is the host pastor.

- The Music Ministry of First Baptist Church of Booneville will present the Christmas musical “In the Fullness of Time” at 6:30 p.m. Sunday. A nursery will be provided for children through age 4.

- Tate Baptist Church in Corinth has several events planned to celebrate Christmas. The Celebration Choir will present “One Amazing Night” at 6 p.m. Sunday and at 7 p.m. Monday. A candlelight Lord’s Supper will be at 6 p.m. Dec. 27. Christmas Eve worship will be at 10 a.m. Dec. 24. A New Year’s Eve celebration will be from 7 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31. - Old Paths Baptist Church in Fulton will observe Watch Night from 7 p.m. to midnight Dec. 31. Speakers will be Bro. Charles L. White and Bro. Tommy Whaley, along with host pastor Bro. Doyle B. Cooper. Music will be by Bro. Gary Haynes and family.

- Zion Spring M.B. Church of Okolona will observe Watch Night at 9 p.m. Dec. 31. The speaker will be Associate Minister Andra Boyd. Music will be by area church choirs and groups. Pastor Nollen Elzie Sr. is the host.

- Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Tupelo will observe Watch Night at 10 p.m. Dec. 31. The speaker will be Pastor Ledentry Forster of The Rock Pentecostal Apostolic Church in Plantersville. Elder Frank Bass Sr. is the host pastor.

- A community Watch Night service will be at 10 p.m. Dec. 31 at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Tupelo. Participating churches are Blackland M.B. Church, Mount Zion M.B. Church, St. Paul Outreach M.B. - Pine Grove M.B. Church of Dorsey will have a special program at 6 p.m. today. Special guests will be the PGBC Drama/Step Team, Redemption, Chosen and others.

- St. Joseph Lodge No. 131 of Verona will celebrate St. John’s Day and have officer installation at 6 p.m. today at the Second Baptist Church in Verona, followed by a fellowship dinner. The speaker will be the Rev. Billy D. Rainey, pastor of New Lebanon M.B. Church of Tupelo.

- Blackwood Grove M.B. Church will have services at 8 a.m. Sunday, and Dec. 24 and 31.

- Christian Faith Missionary Baptist Church of Starkville will have a pastor installation service at 3 p.m. Sunday. The speaker will be the Rev. W.R. Sims, pastor/teacher of Mt. Moriah Missionary Baptist Church of Aberdeen. The Rev. Darrin Foster is host pastor/teacher.

- Tupelo Christian Women’s Club will celebrate the new year at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 9 at the Tupelo Country Club. Buffet opens at 11:15 a.m. The speaker will be Jenny Ellison of Bella Vista, Ark. - Life Christian University will offer classes in Bible and other faith-related topics at a Tupelo extension site starting Jan. 25. A preregistration and orientation meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at Covenant Faith Outreach Ministries, 810 Robert E. Lee Drive, Tupelo. Each four-week course costs $160, will be held on Thursday nights and is worth three semester credit hours. - Grace and Mercy Church in the Plaza on Veterans Boulevard in Tupelo will have an appreciation program for Bro. Tim Frieson at 6 p.m. Jan. 28. - The fourth annual Ladies Conference of North Mississippi will be Feb. 9 and 10 at Harrisburg Baptist Church in Tupelo. The special guest speaker will be Rita Sweatt. Praise and worship will be led by Dale Leech. Special music will be by All Praise. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 9 and the program at 6:30 p.m. The conference continues from 8 a.m. to noon Feb. 10.
