- A benefit program for the Rev. Lewis E. McGee will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 10 at St. Paul Christian Life Center in Tupelo. Music will be by Mt. Pleasant Chesterville M.B. Church, New Salem M.B. Church and New Bethel M.B. Church. Special guests will be Standing 4 Christ.

- New Harmony Baptist Church will host a benefit fish and chicken supper from 4 to 7 p.m. March 3 for Mike and Barbara Hannaford, a husband and wife who are both receiving treatment for cancer at M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston, Texas. Other Events

- Palmetto Baptist Church, located on County Road 261 of Palmetto Road, has called Adron Horne as pastor. A native of Jackson, Tenn., he is a 1963 graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He moved to Mississippi to pastor Jericho Baptist Church near Baldwyn. After leaving Jericho, he worked with the Mississippi Baptist Convention and the North Mississippi Mission Board, serving as dean of the Mississippi Baptist Seminary. Since leaving the seminary, he has pastored and served numerous churches as interim pastor.

- Flatwood Grove Church of the Living God will have a fish fry from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. today.

- University Baptist Church, which meets at the Wesley Foundation on the campus of Mississippi State University, will celebrate Martha Stearns Marshall Day of Preaching at 10:45 a.m. Sunday. The Rev. Susan Meadors, minister of family life at Northside Baptist Church in Clinton, will be the guest preacher. Martha Stearns Marshall preached with her brother and husband throughout North Carolina and Georgia in the 18th century. The day honors her pioneer leadership and gives churches the opportunities to hear women preach, to educate the congregation about women in ministry and to offer preaching experience for a female.

- New Temple Missionary Baptist Church of Fulton will celebrate the 24th anniversary of their pastor, the Rev. S.E. Banks, at 3 p.m. Sunday. The speaker will be the Rev. Lee Brand of Beth-el M.B. Church of Starkville.
