- New Vision Worship Center in Nettleton will have a fund-raising yard sale and bake sale on March 17 at the City Park in Nettleton. Fifteen families will participate.

- Higher Heights Apostolic Church in Plantersville will host a benefit for Kiera Williams at 6 p.m. March 24. Kiera is an 8-year-old lupus and rheumatoid arthritis patient that has been receiving chemotherapy. All choirs, groups, soloists, drama and dance teams are invited to participate. Lent

- University Baptist Church in Starkville will mark the season of Lent during their 10:45 a.m. worship service each Sunday leading up to Easter on April 8. Co-pastors John and Lela Hendrix will deliver sermons matching the theme, “Faith Landscapes,” focusing on “The Wilderness,” a place of temptation; “Cana,” a place of celebration; “Mount Hermon,” a place of mystery; “Capernaum,” a routine place; “Samaria,” a place that is out-of-place; “Bethany,” a place of intuition; and “Galilee,” a gathering place. UBC meets Sunday mornings at the Wesley Foundation on East Lee Boulevard on the Mississippi State University campus. Bible study begins at 9:30 a.m. followed by the worship service.
