Banana Split Pie

Hamburger Stew

1 pound ground beef

Water

Margarine or bacon grease

2 carrots, sliced

1 onion, diced

Potatoes, as many as you like, peeled and cubed

2 to 3 cans tomatoes

Salt and pepper

Put ground beef in a boiler with a little water and margarine or bacon grease. Boil for a few minutes and add remaining ingredients. Cook until vegetables are tender.

Pound Cake

1 box Duncan Hines butter recipe cake mix

2/3 cup vegetable oil

8 ounces sour cream

5 eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla flavoring

1 teaspoon lemon flavoring

1 teaspoon coconut flavoring

Combine cake mix, oil and sour cream. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add flavorings and mix well. Pour into a greased, floured Bundt pan and bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour.

Banana Split Pie

1 large graham cracker crust

4 bananas, sliced

1 (8-ounce) block cream cheese, softened

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 small can crushed pineapple, drained

1 (8-ounce) tub whipped topping

2 tablespoons chopped pecans

6 maraschino cherries, halved

In the bottom of the graham cracker crust, place the sliced bananas. Combine cream cheese and powdered sugar and spread on top of bananas. Top with crushed pineapple. Spread whipped topping over all. Sprinkle with pecans and dot with cherries. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

7-Layer Mexican Dip

1 package taco seasoning mix

1 can refried beans

1 container guacamole dip

8 ounces sour cream

1 small can chopped green chilies

1 small can sliced black olives

2 to 3 medium tomatoes, chopped

2 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Combine taco seasoning and refried beans and spread on a large glass plate. Then layer the following: guacamole dip, sour cream, chilies, olives, tomatoes and cheese. Serve with tortilla chips.

Note: You may also add layers of chopped green bell peppers and onions, if desired.

Pecan Pie

1/2 cup sugar

1 cup light corn syrup

1 tablespoon vanilla flavoring

3 eggs, beaten

1/2 stick melted butter

1 cup finely chopped pecans

1 unbaked pie crust

Combine sugar, corn syrup, vanilla, eggs, butter and pecans and pour into unbaked pie crust. Bake at 300 degrees for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
