TUPELO – The theme for the 2013 Reed’s Tupelo Christmas Parade was a no-brainer.

It’ll be “T’was the Night Before Christmas,” which is fitting because the parade will start at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 10.

Nettie Davis, the first female and African-American Tupelo City Council president, will serve as grand marshal.

The Christmas parade had been at night until the mid-1990s. The change this year coincided with a special opportunity provided by Mitchell Distributing in Tupelo.

The company was one of seven “Big Jake” winners from Anheuser-Busch. As a result, the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales will be in Tupelo Dec. 9 and 10 and will take part in the parade.

Anyone wishing to volunteer to help with the parade may call (662) 841-6598 or email craig@tupelomainstreet.com.
