Waldrop-Covey
Elizabeth Katherine Waldrop of Pontotoc and Jonathan Edgar Covey of Denton, Texas, were united in marriage on Jan. 31, 2009, at Hope Church in Tupelo. Tim Newton of Burleson, Texas, and Colbey Sparkman of Hattiesburg officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Drew and Wanda Waldrop of Pontotoc. She is the granddaughter of Callie Young of Pontotoc and the late John W. Young, and the late Lake and Ricie Waldrop of Pontotoc.
The groom is the son of Edgar and Gloria Covey of Denton, Texas. He is the grandson of Earlan Dubose of Corpus Christi, Texas, and the late A.B. and Mitzie Covey of Corpus Christi, Texas.
Musicians were William Waldrop of Las Vegas, Dr. Robert Riggs of the University of Mississippi, Sharon Miles of Starkville and Chris Burrus of Denton, Texas.
The bride wore a white strapless gown accented with lace appliqués and Swarovski crystals. The gown was designed with a ruched hip sash and a sweep train.
Allison Simmons of Pontotoc was maid of honor. Courtney Covey of Denton, sister of the groom, was best woman. Bridesmaids were Jessica Nichols of Pontotoc, Rebecca Eaton of New Albany, Kim Schenck of Denton, Jamie Covey of Denton, Tara Beene of Fort Worth, Texas, and Brandy Walker of Hattiesburg. Ella Kate and Emma Klaire Nichols of Pontotoc were flower girls. The bridesmaids wore floor-length gowns of royal blue satin with a neckline and style chosen by each bridesmaid.
Casey Leake of Denton, Texas, was best man. Groomsmen were William Waldrop of Las Vegas, Chris Burrus of Denton, Norman Nichols of Pontotoc, Brian Wright of Denton and Michael Beene of Fort Worth. Wesley and Quentin Schenck of Denton were ringbearers.
A reception followed at Hope Church.
After a honeymoon in St. Lucia, the couple is living in Denton, Texas. The bride is a nurse in the Neuro/Trauma ICU at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. The groom owns a lawn care business in Denton.

Lusby-Wilemon
Mr. and Mrs. David Lusby of Aberdeen announce the engagement of their daughter, Whitney Elizabeth Lusby, to Tyler Patrick Wilemon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bob Ludwig of Amory, and Bill Wilemon Jr. of Aberdeen.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lusby of Aberdeen, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Claude Tharp of Aberdeen.
She is a 1998 honor graduate of Aberdeen High School, where she was a member of the Hall of Fame. She is a 2002 magna cum laude graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor of science degree in education psychology. At MSU she was a president’s list and dean’s list scholar, and a member of Golden Key National Honor Society, Alpha Theta Chi, Phi Eta Sigma, Kappa Delta Pi and Who’s Who Among American Universities and Colleges. She is a 2004 graduate of MSU with a master of science degree in rehabilitation counseling. She was an RSA Scholar. She obtained her certification in rehabilitation counseling in 2005. She is employed as a psychometrist with the Mississippi Department of Rehabilitation Services.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Billy B. Wilemon Sr. of Aberdeen, and Grace Easter of Aberdeen and the late Junior Easter.
He is a 1997 graduate of Aberdeen High School and a 2003 graduate of Mississippi State University with a bachelor of science degree in agronomy. At MSU he was involved in the Entomology and Plant Pathology Club and the MSU Turf Club. He is employed as a territory manager with Pennington Seed.
The couple will exchange vows at 5:30 p.m. Sept. 12, 2009, at the First Presbyterian Church in Aberdeen. A reception will follow at the Cypress Lake Lodge in Aberdeen. Family and friends are invited.
Cockrell-Foster
Donnie and Charlotte Cockrell of Mantachie announce the engagement of their daughter, Tonya Cockrell, to Chris Foster, son of Jerry and Deborah Foster of Kirkville.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Leburn Orear of Fulton and the late Nellie Orear, and the late Bonnie and Olene Cockrell of Mantachie.
She is a 2002 graduate of Mantachie High School and a 2003 graduate of Creations College of Cosmetology. She is employed by A Cut Above in Mantachie.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Irene Foster of Baldwyn and the late Tison Foster, and the late F.G. “Red” and Era “Bubba” Wiygul of Fulton.
He is a 2001 graduate of Mantachie High School. He is employed by Fulton Telephone Company.

Word-Mitchell
Mr. and Mrs. William Burton Word of Houston, and Kitty Lee Word of Okolona announce the engagement of their daughter, Katie Lea Word, to Samuel Lee Mitchell, son of Mr. and Mrs. M.P. “Mitch” Mitchell of Amory.
The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Mattie Sue Brooks of Okolona and the late Travis Fred “Buddy” Brooks, and Cherry Word of Okolona and the late Thomas Lawler “T” Word.
She is a 1998 graduate of Okolona High School. She attended Itawamba Community College. She is an emergency room tech at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Louise Mitchell of Kennedy, Ala., and the late Marion Mitchell, and Berle Dean Hollingsworth of Gordo, Ala., and the late Clarice Hollingsworth.
He is a 2002 graduate of Hatley High School. He earned a degree in electrical technology at Itawamba Community College. He is an electrician with JESCO Corp. at the Cooper Tire and Rubber Company in Tupelo.

Kutrip-Dunahue
Kurt and Jennie Kutrip of Corinth announce the engagement of their daughter, Lauren Michelle Kutrip, to Bradley Scott Dunahue, son of Lynn Cooper of Corinth and the late Rev. Donald Dunahue.
The bride-elect is also the daughter of the late Janet Kutrip. She is the granddaughter of Nelene Pannell of Belize, Central America.
She is a 2005 graduate of Booneville High School and a 2009 graduate of Northeast Mississippi Community College. She is a registered nurse at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville.
The prospective groom is the grandson of Maureen Dunahue of New Albany.
He is a 1994 graduate of New Site High School and a 2006 graduate of Itawamba Community College. He is a paramedic at the North Mississippi Medical Center.

Bailey-Stewart
Jessica Bailey and Brandon Stewart announce their engagement.
The bride-elect is the daughter of Linda Baker of Tupelo and Erwin Bailey Jr. of Greenville. She is the granddaughter of Erwin and Laura Bailey of Clarksdale, and Glenda Stacy of Searcy, Ark., and the late Lewis Stacy.
She is a 2005 graduate of Tupelo High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She attended Northeast Mississippi Community College. She is a 2008 graduate of Itawamba Community College with an associate of arts degree in paralegal. She is attending the University of Mississippi, where she is pursing a bachelor’s degree in legal studies. She is an employee of Phelps Dunbar in Tupelo.
The prospective groom is the son of Mark and Angela Stewart of Tupelo. He is the grandson of Don and Martha Stewart of Tupelo, and Bobby and Donnie Baird of Houston.
He is a 2005 graduate of Tupelo High School. He is an employee of Utility Management Association in Tupelo.
The couple will exchange vows at 4 p.m. Sept. 12, 2009, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Don Stewart in Tupelo. A reception will follow. Family and friends are invited. In the event of inclement weather, the ceremony will be at Valley Grove Baptist Church in Tupelo.

Baulch-Shadburn
Mollyanna Baulch and Jay Scott Shadburn were united in marriage on July 17, 2009, on the beach in Destin, Fla. Pastor Dean officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Phillip and Deana Baulch of Nettleton. She is the granddaughter of James and Hazel Baulch, and Lawrence and Carolyn Shackelford, all of Nettleton. She is the great granddaughter of Carrie Mae Baulch of Nettleton.
The groom is the son of Junior and Tammy Shadburn of Corinth. He is the grandson of Agness Shadburn and O.R. Scott, both of Corinth.
Anna Parker of Nettleton was maid of honor. Katie Leach, Korie Beth Leach and Jessica Patterson, all of Nettleton and all cousins of the bride, were bridesmaids. The seashell girls were Kylie Leach, Jayla Patterson and Jamie Rose Patterson, all of Nettleton, and Alli Grace Shackelford and BoHanna Shackelford, both of Saltillo, all cousins of the bride.
Junior Shadburn, father of the groom, was best man. Groomsmen were Jordan Pinkston, Zeb Taylor, Samuel Bragg and Sam Holt, all of Corinth. The ringbearer was the bride’s teddy bear, Roosevelt.
The entire wedding party and guests wore white.
A dinner and reception followed at the Crab Trap in Destin.
After a honeymoon in Destin and Panama City, the couple is living in Nettleton. The bride is pursuing a career in nursing, and the groom is pursuing a career in education.
