Annual blues festival honors an Aberdeen music legend

ABERDEEN – As the cool fall winds are just weeks ago so are those lazy blues riffs echoing off Blue Bluff as the Bukka White Festival is just a few calendar flips away.
This year’s festival will feature returning activities such as Bernie Pearl’s guitar workshop, Bob Tarter’s animal show, the Rover on the River pet costume competition, vendor booths and the Ribs on the River barbecue competition all set to the tune of two day’s worth of blues artists.
“We’re really looking forward to it. Homemade Jamz out of Tupelo will be the closing act on Saturday night after a host of blues acts. It gets bigger and better every year,” said Patsy Claxton, secretary and treasurer of the Bukka White Festival.
The Bukka White Festival will be Oct. 14 and 15.
