Tupelo native returns home for performance

Tupelo’s Adam Grace returns to his old stomping grounds with his band, Truth & Salvage Co.

The band has a gig at the Blue Canoe at 8:30 p.m. Friday. Wes Sheffield & the Slow Burners opens.

Truth & Salvage Co. has a new album, “Pick Me Up,” which will hit stores July 23, and it’s also Grace’s birthday celebration.

‘Southern Sounds’ at Natchez Trace Parkway The Natchez Trace Parkway is celebrating its 75th anniversary, and music will help get the party started.

The line-up includes Pickin’n Grinnin’, Jack Curtis, the North Mississippi Dulcimer Association and the Redoak Grove Missionary Baptist Church choir.

The celebration is scheduled for 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, with the music starting at 11 a.m.

It’s free, and visitors are encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs.
