New Albany ‘Casablanca’ classic showing Friday night
– The classic film “Casablanca” will be screened in New Albany’s Cooper Park on Friday.
Moonstone will kick off the evening at 6:30 with its brand of jazz, followed by the film.

Lee Library seeks Harry Potter memorabilia
– Calling all Harry Potter fans – the Lee County Library needs your wands, sorting hats and other Potter gear.
The Lee County Library is featuring a Harry Potter exhibit throughout the month of August and needs memorabilia to fill an exhibit space.
Items will be kept in a locked case during August. Attach your name and contact information to your items and take them to Vicky Manning at the Lee County Library.

Counting Crows make tour stop at Harrah’s
– Counting Crows, the band behind hits like “Mr. Jones,” “Accidentally in Love,” “Round Here” and “Hanginaround,” will perform at Harrah’s Casino in Tunica on Saturday.
